Due to increased networking and the entry of new players in the FFANG era (Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix and Google) into the health market, statutory health insurance and state administration (first health market) and privately financed health services (second health market) are being expanded by a form of cooperation.
The third health market is created by the merging of the first and second. The first health market is privately financed by the state and comprises statutory and private insurance services. Private financed health services (out-of-pocket payments) characterise the second health market, whereas the third health market is formed by a share economy.
